Why have a fire risk assessment?

It has been the law since October 2006, without an assessment you may not be legally compliant and your business is unlikely to be insured for fire.

Why can’t I do it myself?

You can, if you have the time and expertise to do it. But for an untrained person a fire risk assessment can be time consuming and might not meet legal requirements. You may want to leave it to the professionals.
